This Legal Notice is provided pursuant to sections 1200 to 1206 and section 1300 of the Companies Act 2006, and to the disclosure requirements of the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002. It identifies the operator of halsworthhayes.shop (the “Website”) and the regulatory and editorial framework that applies to it.

VAT registration

Our VAT registration status is currently pending. Once we are registered with HM Revenue & Customs we will display our VAT number on this page and on all customer invoices. Until then, prices shown on the Website are gross prices in pounds sterling (GBP).

Editorial responsibility

Editorial responsibility for the content of the Website (product descriptions, editorial copy, photography selection, policy pages and brand communications) sits with the directors of Secure Payment Ltd at the registered office above. As a UK-based online retailer, our activities fall within the remit of the following authorities:

Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) — consumer protection and competition law.
Local Trading Standards (Dorset Council) — enforcement of consumer protection legislation including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the CCRs 2013.
Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) — data protection, UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) — non-broadcast advertising, including online marketing and social media content, under the CAP Code.
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) — tax, VAT (once registered) and import/export compliance.

Online safety contact (UK Online Safety Act 2023)

Although Halsworth & Hayes is primarily an e-commerce site rather than a user-to-user service, we welcome complaints about user-generated content (such as product reviews) under the spirit of the Online Safety Act 2023. Reports concerning unlawful, harmful or misleading user content can be sent to contact@halsworthhayes.shop with the subject line “Online Safety report”. We aim to acknowledge within two (2) working days and to take appropriate action where the report is well-founded.

Notice and takedown — intellectual property complaints

We respect the intellectual property of others and expect our customers to do the same. If you believe that content published on the Website infringes a copyright, trade mark, design right or other intellectual property right that you own or are authorised to enforce, please send a written notice to contact@halsworthhayes.shop including:

your full name, postal address and email;
a description of the right alleged to be infringed and evidence of ownership;
the URL or precise location of the allegedly infringing content;
a statement, signed in good faith, that the use of the material is not authorised by the rights-holder, its agent or the law;
a statement that the information in the notice is accurate.

Upon receipt of a valid notice we will assess the complaint, contact any relevant uploader where appropriate, and remove or restrict access to the content where the complaint is well-founded. The United Kingdom does not have a statute equivalent to the United States DMCA; this procedure is offered in the spirit of good practice and reflects the obligations of intermediaries under the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002.

Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to browse and shop with us. We design and test the Website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We are continuously improving keyboard navigation, colour contrast, alt text on imagery, and screen-reader compatibility.
